Lockwood 3772AFSS Selector 3772 MkII Universal Primary Mortice Lock - Aluminium Door Fixing - 60 mm Backset - Satin Stainless Steel

The Lockwood 3772AFSS is a Selector 3772 MkII universal primary mortice lock from the ASSA ABLOY-owned Lockwood Selector 3700 Series, supplied in the Aluminium Door Fixing (AF) build with a 60 mm backset and a Satin Stainless Steel faceplate and strike.

The AF build fits the same heavy-duty Selector 3772 case with a narrow 156 x 25 mm faceplate suited to aluminium-framed commercial doors. It provides secure auxiliary deadlatching, in-door function configuration, and the range's field-selectable escape functions, and it shares the wider 3772 accessory ecosystem (strikes, cams, adaptors, DX conversion and electric-strike faceplates).

The lock body houses a Lockwood 570-series oval cylinder (ordered separately) and is fire tested to AS 1905.1 and rated to AS 4145.2 (Durability D8, Security S7) for demanding commercial and institutional use.

FAQ icon Frequently Asked Questions

Aluminium fixing icon
What is the "aluminium door fixing" build?
It is the same Selector 3772 case supplied with a narrow 156 x 25 mm faceplate sized for aluminium-framed commercial doors. If you already have a timber-faceplate 3772, the 3772-AFKIT converts it to aluminium fixing. For matching your door and stile, see Door Type Matching (Buyers Guide Chapter 04).
Cylinder icon
Is a cylinder included?
No. The 3772AFSS is a lock body only. A Lockwood 570-series oval cylinder and the correct cam (X7 or V) are ordered separately to match your keying system and function - this lets the lock integrate with restricted and master key systems. See how key override works for background.
Fire rating icon
Is this lock fire rated?
Yes - the 3772 case is tested to AS 1905.1:2005 (Part 1) for use on fire door assemblies up to 4 hours, in non-holdback configurations. Holdback (H) function builds are not fire door rated. Read what makes a lock fire-door compliant.
Digital conversion icon
Can I convert this to a digital keypad lock later?
Yes. The same 3772 case accepts the 3772-DXKITSC DX digital conversion kit (or the key-override version), or you can step up to the standalone Lockwood Cortex CTX3772 digital lockset.
Non-returnable icon
Can I return this item?
No - the 3772AFSS is a special-order product and is non-returnable once purchased. Confirm your build, backset, function and finish before ordering; our team can help you check compatibility.

Additional information icon Additional Information

Aluminium doors and stile width. The AF build's narrow 156 x 25 mm faceplate is made for aluminium stiles. Confirm your stile can take a 60 mm backset mortice before ordering - Buyers Guide Chapter 02 - stile width and the measuring your backset how-to cover this.

Cam selection matters. The function you get is determined by the cylinder cam (X7 or V) and the adaptor fitted, not by a different lock body. Confirm the intended function before ordering the cam and cylinder. For a plain-English refresher on the mortice lock format, see the F05 vs F54 mortice locks guide.

Non-handed hosts. The Selector 3772 case is non-handed and reversible on site without disassembly, so one lock covers both left and right-hand doors - see door handing and field-reversibility.

Deadlatching and secondary-lock context. The 3772 latch is auxiliary deadlatching, which resists loiding (slipping the latch). On apartment and strata fire doors this matters for the one-penetration principle - see secondary locks and the one-penetration principle.

Access control and electric strikes. The 3772 is electric-strike compatible via the aluminium 3772AF-2100SS faceplate, so it drops into monitored access-control installations on aluminium doors without changing the mortice pocket.

Accessibility (DDA). As a lock body, the 3772AFSS is not itself DDA compliant - accessibility depends on the lever furniture and door assembly. If your project must meet AS 1428.1, review Buyers Guide Chapter 09 - DDA, NDIS & Accessibility and choose compliant lever furniture accordingly.

Standards, brand and installation. Lockwood is an ASSA ABLOY brand and Australia's most widely specified commercial lock range - see Buyers Guide Chapter 10 - Brand Profiles. For the standards stack (AS 1905.1, AS 4145.2, D and S grades), see Chapter 11 - Australian Standards. Drilling or morticing a fire door carries asbestos and compliance risk in older buildings - read asbestos in apartment fire doors and consider Terry's supply and installation service.
