Lockwood 3772H100SS Holdback Escape Lock Adaptor Kit - Stainless Steel
The Lockwood 3772H100SS is a holdback adaptor kit for the ASSA ABLOY-owned Lockwood Selector 3772 MkII Escape Lock range. Manufactured in stainless steel, it adds the holdback function to a 3772 case, allowing the latch bolt to be held retracted inside the lock so the door can free-swing while it is meant to stay unlocked.
Holdback is used where a commercial door needs to stay latch-free during trading or operating hours and be re-secured afterwards. The kit installs in the field to an existing 3772 lock body - there is no need to replace the primary lock. It is a mechanical accessory only: no lock case, cylinder or lever furniture is included.
Important: holdback must not be used on fire doors. Fitting this kit removes the door's fire-rated latching function, so the 3772H100SS is not suitable for fire-rated doorsets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Holdback keeps the latch bolt retracted inside the lock case, so the door is not latched and can free-swing. It is used to hold a door "open" (unlatched) during trading hours, then released so the door latches and secures again afterwards.
No. Holdback removes the self-latching a fire door relies on, so fitting this kit is not permitted on any fire-rated doorset. If your door is fire rated, keep a non-holdback 3772 configuration. See AS 1905.1 (Buyers Guide Chapter 11).
The Selector 3772 MkII universal primary escape lock, in any build configuration - standard, non-sprung, no-hub-disc, radius-end, locking-adaptor, 50 mm door kit or aluminium fixing. See Compatible Locks above.
No. The kit installs to an existing 3772 lock body in the field, so there is no need to replace the primary lock. A locksmith can add or remove holdback without swapping the case.
No. This is an adaptor kit only - the 3772 lock case, 570-series cylinder and lever furniture are ordered separately.
Additional Information
When holdback is the right choice. Holdback suits doors that must stay unlatched during set hours - a shopfront, an office suite entry, or an internal corridor door during the working day - and be secured again after hours. It is a mechanical convenience, not a security feature: while held back, the door is not latched.
The fire-door boundary. This is the one place holdback is never acceptable. A fire door has to latch on its own to hold its rating, so holdback configurations (3772V-H / 3772XVH / 3772VTH) sit outside the fire-tested scope of the 3772 range. If the door is fire rated, choose a non-holdback build. For the standards behind this, see Buyers Guide Chapter 05 - Fire Door hardware and the apartment fire-door compliance guide.
Retrofit-friendly. Because the kit fits an existing 3772 case, you can add holdback to an installed lock without a full replacement. If you later want to change the door to keyless entry instead, the same case accepts the 3772-DXKITSC DX digital conversion kit. For a plain-English refresher on the mortice format, see the F05 vs F54 mortice locks guide.
Non-handed hosts. The Selector 3772 case is non-handed and field reversible, so the holdback function works regardless of door hand - see door handing and field-reversibility.
Brand and installation. Lockwood is an ASSA ABLOY brand and Australia's most widely specified commercial lock range - see Buyers Guide Chapter 10 - Brand Profiles. Fitting or removing holdback is best done by a locksmith; Terry's offers a supply and installation service across the Gold Coast.
